Bauman and Peters Sponsored Homes

In Honor of Virgil & Jennie Peters 

In 2002, Dr. Virgil Peters, then president of the Habitat Board of Directors, went to a regional conference where he heard about a couple who celebrated their 50^th anniversary by raising the money to build a Habitat home. Excited by this idea he returned to the community committed to sponsoring the construction of a house in honor of his and Jennie’s 50^th wedding anniversary. Dr. Tim Peters, also a long-time board member, has been a key supporter and advocate in honoring his parents in this way. The Peters will be partnering with Luda Skvortsova and her daughter Anna.

In Honor of Ivo Bauman 

Virgil’s enthusiasm was caught by fellow North Willamette Valley Habitat for Humanity board member Tom Bauman who organized his family, including his siblings and mother, Tecie, to raise money to build a house in honor of his late father, Ivo Bauman. Ivo is being honored for his leadership in founding the local work of Habitat (formerly known as Habitat for Humanity, Mt. Angel Area ) in 1986. This home is the 25^th home to be constructed by North Willamette Valley and will be built during the 20-year anniversary of the affiliate. The Baumans will work with partner family Steve Duran and his four children, Sarah, Laurel, Andrew, and Caleb.
